By using the website, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. HDAN reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Use of the Website

You agree to use the website solely for lawful purposes consistent with HDAN’s mission to advocate for mobility equity. You shall not:

  • Use the website to transmit harmful, unlawful, or defamatory content.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, its servers, or associated systems.

  • Interfere with the website’s functionality, including through viruses, hacking, or denial-of-service attacks.

  • Use automated tools (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access or collect data without prior written permission from HDAN.

3. Story Submissions

HDAN invites users to submit stories via email to support our research and advocacy, such as analyzing insurance premium trends or regulatory impacts. By submitting a story, you agree to the following:

  • Ownership and License: You retain ownership of your story but grant HDAN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute the content for our advocacy purposes, including research, policy briefs, reports, grant applications, or public advocacy, subject to your specified consent preferences.

  • Consent Preferences: You must specify in your submission email one of the following:

    1. Internal Research Only: Story is anonymized and used solely for internal analysis.

    2. Anonymized Public Use: Anonymized excerpts may be included in reports, briefs, or advocacy materials.

    3. Public Use with Attribution: Story may be shared publicly with your name or identifiers, only with your explicit written permission. If no preference is provided, HDAN will default to internal, anonymized research use to protect your privacy.

  • Accuracy and Rights: You represent that your story is truthful, does not infringe on third-party rights (e.g., copyright, privacy), and is yours to share. You are responsible for any legal claims arising from your submission.

  • Withdrawal of Consent: You may request removal of your story by emailing contact@human-drivers-advocacy.org. HDAN will comply, subject to legal obligations (e.g., retention for grant reporting), but the license granted above remains irrevocable for prior uses.

  • No Compensation: Submission of a story is voluntary, and you will not receive compensation for its use.

HDAN is not obligated to use or retain submitted stories and may reject or remove submissions at our discretion.

4. Intellectual Property

  • HDAN Content: All content on the website, including text, logos, graphics, and reports (excluding user-submitted stories), is owned by HDAN or our licensors and protected by U.S. copyright and trademark laws.
